Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
Interest Charges on Rent
I moved out of my previous place where I was renting a room out of the condo my roommate bought. I have been unable to pay the last months rent of $800 (due to unemployment) and she is charging me interest of a really high percentage, is this permitted?

Re: Interest Charges on Rent
Unless you have a provision in a written lease, she cannot charge you interest.
