Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

landlady has not made ANY trust deed payments since i moved in i

we moved into an apartment in 8 of 2005, we are on the section 8 housing program. any way, after i moved in and the contract was approved by the housing authority. the land lady came at me and said i still owed on the ''additional'' security deposit. which was a total of 750.00 above the ''approved by housing authority '' $1500.00 i had already paid upon move in. while i knew, ''if it's not in the contract, tenant doesn't pay'' however,i also was made very aware by landlady she would evict me if i didn't pay the additional. so i started paying, 100.00 additional every month. during the first part of 1/2006, a man came by ''interested in buying'' the 4 plex i live in, as it is in forclosure officially as of 1/5/06!! i got a copy of said forclosure. and it was true. in reading these documents, i discover my landlady hasn't paid one penny on this place since getting the loan. so the H A requested proof of forclosure, which i submitted, and they say they will issue a new voucher,but be prepared i my have to ''eat'' all other deposit monies!! surly there must be something that can be done in this case, there are 4 families residing here, and all face financial loss. and i havn't even gotten into the additional ways she's extorted money from us
