Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

My landlord claims that I didn't pay him a month of rent but I remember paying him cash. I can't prove that I paid him but he can't prove that I didn't what can I do.

If you did not get a receipt, or have some other way of showing that you withdrew an amount of money equal to your rent at the time you paid the cash, your only argument is a "he-said-they-said," which may not be sufficient to prove you paid the rent. If you have the money, pay the rent again with a money order and take the Landlord to the small claims court for a refund of the cash payment. You'll still have a poor argument, but at least the case won't involve an eviction. Never, ever pay your rent in cash! Good Luck
