Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
If my landlord wants to demolish my home and build new multiple units, and relocate me to one of those units upon completion, does that interfere with the quiet enjoyment of my home?

Yes, but unless you have an unexpired lease you are only entitled to quiet enjoyment for 30 days at a time. The landlord is free to change the terms of the rental agreement or terminate it at any time on 30-days notice, or 60 if you have been a tenant more than a year. You may, however, have special rights not avialable state-wide, under San Francisco's rent control ordinances. You should check with one of the many very good (ie, agressive) tenants rights groups that exist in S.F.
