Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
My landlord gave me a 30 day notice right after the courts dismissed his unlawful detainer he had against me the courts found it to be retaliatory just as it was. Is it legal to give me 30 day notice plus change the main entrance locks and not give me a key on top of never fixing maitance issues that the city inspector informed him to fix.

The landlord cannot engage in self-help by locking you out of the premises. There might be retaliation involved after you apparently complained to the city about habitability issues. You might consult immediately with an attorney who represents tenants to see if you have any legal recourse as well as a defense to the anticipated new unlawful detainer.
