Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Landlord Harassment

I need some advice. After 4 letters from my landlord and one acrimonious phone call, I sent a letter, via certified mail, telling my landlord to stop dropping off correspondence at my door and to mail it to me. After reading my letter, she again had someone stop at my home, unannounced, to do the same thing. Can you tell me what my rights are? The county went after her because of the poor condition of my home. Now, she has sent me a total of 5 letters in the course of a month, none of which was sent by mail. Please help me.

Re: Landlord Harassment

If you feel that you are being harassed you should file a restraining order against your landlord. You need to document the instances of the alleged harassment though.

If you have futher questions, please contact an attorney to help you with your case.

Good luck.

Re: Landlord Harassment

I think you are too sensitive. Five letters in a month isn't that bad.

If your certified letter didn't do the trick, you can always try for Mt. Chau's idea of a restraining order.

Also, I don't follow what the poor condition of the home has to do with the letters.
