Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
Landlord Harassment
Hello, I'll try to be clear about this. I live in West Hollywood in a rent controlled unit. I have lived in this unit since 1996. My question is this - what exactly is the definition of harassment by a landlord? i.e. what exactly constitutes harassment in order to pursue legal action against hin/her? Thank you.

Re: Landlord Harassment
Harassment is to varied to give a general answer other than to state that implied in every lease is the covenant for quiet use and enjoyment. Any breach of that covenant Could be considered harassment. However, it is much better to discuss this matter with a landlord/tenant specialist attorney.
Re: Landlord Harassment
It would be easier to respond to your question if you gave instances that you believe are harassment. As a tenant, you are entitled to the quiet enjoyment of your residence. Any interference by the landlord could be a breach of your lease.
