Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

My landlord has just increased my rent by 10.6% and only gave me a 24 day notice before I was to pay the next months rent, which is also when the 1 year lease is up. I took three days to determine if I would leave and gave my notice which was the 9th day of the month. My landloard is now trying to charge me rent for 9 days into the next month which is 30 days from my notice. Is this legal, as they only gave me 24 days notice and not 60 for the over 10% rate increase?

Your landlord breached the contract. I assume that you paid rent up to the time you actually left. You do not own more rent.
