Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

landlord issues

I live in San Fran, CA. I rent room from landlord 4 over 6months. He agreed to sublease room for 2months while I am in Tx with mom. My boyfriend who also rents a room informs me landlord is thinking he doesn't want me back. My belongings are in my bf's room. I have no legal contract. Do I have any rights? Can he deny me the room without any written notice etc? I haven't done anything wrong. Do I have any rights? If I fly back and cannot gain access to my room or belongings do I haveany recourse. I will be out, no money, etc..

Re: landlord issues

I am missing something. Did you have an oral agreement with landlord?

Where you renting a room in L's house, or renting a studio apartment. Why do you mean by sublease? That means you, as tenant, with landlord permission are renting some space to others.

Is bf in same room you were in? You cannot be evicted without legal papers.

It is a violation of law for him to evict you without court documents, and you are entitled to your "stuff".
