Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
Landlord wants you to move.
On August 17th my landlord informed me that he wishes to move into our home of two years. He is in a divorse that will be settled soon, is tired of apartment living and has always liked our home. He said that my mother and I could have until Xmas to move. Two days later he came by our house and told me he would like us to be out by the end of September - so he could get ''on with his life''.
My question is, Is there a minimum length of time that he must give us to move? Anything else that he must provide to us? Also, he has not notified us in writing of any of the above.
Your help will be greatly apreciated.

Re: Landlord wants you to move.
Since you have lived there more than 1 year, he must give you 60 days WRITTEN notice.
Furthermore, if you have a lease (rather than month to month) he cannot require you to move until the lease is up.
