Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
My landlord in PA returned 85 dollars of our 1600 dollar deposit with a list of itemized deductions. Her letter says that the amount of damage done was actually more than our 1600 dollar deposit but she was issuing the 85 dollars to resolve our relationship and by cashing it we agree not to pursue legal action and if we choose not to accept it she will pursue the additional money we owe her. Does this mean that if I cash the check she also cannot pursue the 'additional money' we supposedly owe her?
