Can my landlord prevent me from adding my new husband to my lease. i just got married?

Congratulations on getting married. The landlord is not required by law to add your new husband to the lease agreement. Most landlords will agree to do so, but will require that he qualify for the lease just like you did - credit report, rental references, etc... The landlord is perfectly within his or her rights to require that qualification.
