My landlord is suing me for non payment of rent the landlord gave me an address that wasn't valid which caused money to be delayed we have now found the address wasn't valid because of an illegal unit by ladbs substandard order but the landlord is still evicting us how do we defend ourselves

Contact a local landlord tenant attorney or a tenant's rights organization. You may have some defenses and may be entitled to some compensation.
If the unit was not legal, you may not be required to pay any rent, and could be entitled to refund of any rent actually paid.
