Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Landlord & Tenant Civil Summons

We have been issued a civil summons dated May 2007 and today is Sept. 29, 2007. However, the summons was given to a family member at a different residence than where we reside and not given to us personally, nor were we notified in any way.

How do you find out if the claim has been given the extension or has been dropped?

Does this summons have to be given to us in person?

Thank You.

The summons must be personally served upon you or an adult living at your address. You should either look online (if the court has such records) or go to the courthouse where the suit was filed to see what is happening with the case. Time is of the essence! If it's for an eviction, you'd better hussle on down to the courthouse. Feel free to provide me directly with more details.
