Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

landlord's rights

My tenant gave her 30 day notice on June 15. Can I still collect rent from her for the period of time that she will be occupying the premises up to and including July 15. Please call me at 626 391-5569.

Re: landlord's rights

You can insist that she pay rent through the end of her tenancy, which if she leaves on July 15th, will be July 15th. Prorate the rent at the beginning of July, and have her pay 15/31 of the rent. If she does not pay, you can give her a three (3) day notice to pay or quit, and evict her if she doesn't.
