Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Landlord/Tenant

I put my 30 day notice in and paid rent through Oct. 25. Due to the wildfires, there was a mandatory evacuation that kept us out of our area until Oct. 26. I lost 4 days due to this and when we were able to return I was completely out in 4 more days. Now my landlord is trying to charge me rent for these days eventhough no one could return.

Can they charge me for this?

Yes, he can charge you! Can he collect? Not likely!!!

Write the stingy miser a certified letter, return receipt, that you will not pay.

If you have further problems with this call, or e-mail, my office.

Good luck!
