landlord/tennat dispute
well my mother-in-law and her daughter were leasing a house they had a falling out and they broke the lease and moved, but the landlord says she (my mother-in-law) has to pay full rent, $150.00 for dead lawn, $150.00 for the daughter not turning in her key, plus no deposit cause they said the house needed repairs. both of them were on the lease but the landlord is only going after my mother-in-law what legal rights does she really have?

Read my previous answer on deposits.

Unless the dead lawn, and key return, are in the lease landlord cannot charge. Landlord can charge the costs of a new lock.

It is proper to go after mother-in-law only, if she has reasonable credit.
