Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
the leasing office where I live posted a 3 day notice on my door which stated the names of all the residents and the amount of rent we pay each month. I feel that this is an invasion of privacy is there any law stating that this is wrong. I understand the notice needs to be posted where it is easily seen but to have the letter oppened wide and taped to my door by all four corners disclosing persons that live here and rent amount seems kind of sick. Anyone who passes by is able to see your business. This seems wrong.

I do not think the landlord has any liability. It was not the nicest way to proceed, and may have been done to try to prevent others from not being late on their rental payments, but it probably is like a store clerk saying out loud while other shoppers are within hearing distance, as opposed to whispering to you, that your credit card is not being accepted. You can take the notice down when ever you want.
