Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I live in an old building. In less than six months I have had over $500.00 in flood damages, two floods, 1 month where I had to use the apartment next door due to lack of hot water, and now there is a bedbug infestation that 3 sprayings have not remedied. They have a rule that you cannot change apartment in the first six months of your lease. This studio is not livable. I have missed days of work due to exterminations, and flood work. I have also missed work due to severe bed bug bites. I have insomnia which is getting worse, and my dog is ill due to the stress of this all. In short, this studio is destroying my life. Do I have any grounds to sue for emotional stress or anything at all?

You can get your rent back plus if you get the building code enforcement department to say it is inhabitable. Contact me directly.
