Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I live in California and would like to let a friend stay for a month to get on her feet. Can I create a contract that says she cannot establish residency and agrees that she is not a renter but a guest?

Yes. But be sure to limit it to 29 days. At 30 days everything changes. Also make sure it specifies they pay no rent and do not contribute to expenses.
