Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I live in San Diego and currently renting a four bedroom with a lease agreement that allows for sub-tenants.
I understand that any subtenants I bring on, I�m considered the �landlord� to them in a legal sense.
Due to circumstances, I needed a room filled but didn�t have time to do the screening. My landlord found a couple to rent the room and he took their deposit and first months rent.
In this case, is he considered the landlord or am I?
