Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I live in an up-to-down duplex that used to be a single family home. It was likely converted in the 60's or 70's. There are separate gas and electrical meters, however there are some overlaps. I have worked with the landlord to separate utilities that serve the other unit but now I am down to connections that may not be so easily separated. He refuses to change any more service connections and I am still paying for a portion of my neighbors electrical service.
This condition was not disclosed when I moved in 3 years ago and there is no lease.
