If I live w a friend and no rental agreement was signed and I paid rent does he have a right to kick me out just like that??

No. If you were paying rent on a monthly basis, then you have created a month to month tenancy and you are entitled to one month's notice. However, if you quit paying rent, then he may give you a 3 day notice.
