Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
How long do i have once an eviction notice has been issued, I paid rent but the lease was under someone else's name
1 Answer from Attorneys
When you say "eviction notice," what do you mean? You might have received a three day notice to pay or quit. In that case, you must move within three days, or pay the rent. If you received a thirty or a sixty day notice to terminate your tenancy, then you must move within that time frame, regardless of the fact that you paid rent. In each of these cases, if you do not leave the property by the date in the notice, then a lawsuit will be filed and a judgment could be obtained within as little as two to three weeks evicting you from the property
