Deborah Bayus Law Office of Deborah Bayus

Califonia Civil Code Section 1983(a) states that you must notify the tenant in writing of the specific items left, to come and claim it, what the storage costs are and where the property is located. If the notice is handed to them - 15 days to claim it - if the notice is mailed to their last known address or any address where you suspect they are living - then 18 days. Send the letter first class mail.
