Re: low income apartment evictions

In general, No!!! Unless there is a clause in the lease, which would cover this, the only way you could be evicted for criminal misconduct would be if you were conducting a criminal enterprise in the apartment (such as dealing drugs or using the apartment as a meth lab). Low income or high income makes no difference. You can be evicted for being behind on the rent, violating a provision of the lease, etc., but not for being on parole. Many areas are now fearful of sex offenders, and, if you have that in your background, it could be in your lease, or the application thereof. Furthermore, if you are on a month-to-month lease, only a 30 day notice is required and landlord doesn't have to give a reason. I can't help you any more without additional facts. Please feel free to e-mail me, or call my office if you think there are additional facts which may help me give you a more accurate answer.
