Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Hi, I have been mailed a letter via regular mail from my storage company, where I have had a unit for 6 years, that on Sept. 9, 2010 my storage would be auctioned off. The letter was dated 8/20/2010. I am willing to pay my storage, however the sudden time frame has me worrying why I wasn't sent a notification by certified mail. I want to pay this before auction but am short a little bit of all the late fees so even a weeks time is useful at this point, hense my needing to know the legal stand I may or may not have. Thank you.

It appears that it is too late to respond to this question, but I will offer that if you go to the storage company, pay what you can, they generally will work with you to catch up on the balance of the fees and costs. I hope you were able to avoid sale of your possessions.
