Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I am a mentally disabled 42 year old woman. I am on SSI. I own a mobile home in a park. With my SSI check I cannot afford rent and everything. Then I have no food money.. So I share the rent with a roommate. Often times renters move in and out because I am near a university. They usually stay a year. The park wants anyone who lives in the park have a credit check costing $20/ Most of the applicants for my house are turned away from the management because they are young students and have not established credit yet. What do I do? What if I wanted a relative that has bad credit to move in with me? Or a boyfriend?

You have a rather complicated question that requires a fairly extensive answer. Basically, the park can control occupancy with the $20 fee for the credit check, although I question whether this is appropriate as the person is living in your mobile home. Contact me by e-mail at [email protected].
