month to month notice

i rented 5 apt. for aprox 2800 each each apt has an agreement of a month to month basis with no minimum stay.i went to give them a 30 day notice on 4 apts. and they said 60 day is required. i then read the lease, and it is written in there 60 day notice several times, am i stuck paying for 4 empty apts this will cost me 11000 if i do!ouch!i am paying extra for each apt to have a month to month rent but i didnt read it close enough to catch the 60 day notice.we have been here aprox 1.5 months so far and would like to let 4 go 30 days from now thanks for you help! JR

If the contract states specifically that you must give 60 days notice to vacate, then you must give 60 days notice.
