Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I moved into an apartment and at that time had a cat i was not asked for a pet deposit. 6 years later i got a small dog for my wife and now am being told i have to pay for a deposit for each pet now can they do that .

A landord can change the terms of the tenancy whenever the lease renews, or if you are on month-to-month they can change it at any time with 30-days notice (except rent, which requires 60-days notice if you've been there a year or more).
