Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I moved from a house that I had rented for 3 years. The entire time I went through a rental agency (all payments etc.), and now they are telling me it's the owners responsibilty to give me my deposit back and not their's and they will try to have them contact me. Who by law should return my deposit.

I would suggest you read your lease. Who is listed as the entity/individual you contracted with? You should contact whomever the document tells you to. Good luck!
