Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Moving out after expired lease

Hi, thanks in advance for your generous help.

I'm currently in a 1 year term lease that will expire May 31st 2005 (in 2 weeks basically), with 3 other roommates on the lease. I'm planning on moving out before this time, and I have already gave notice to the management of my plans and signed a roommate release form 30 days ahead.

My question is, if my other roommates choose to stay after May 31st, am I legally obligated to find them a replacement roommate or be responsible for month to month rent until I do so? The management indicates that this is the case, indicating that we all signed the original 1 year term lease together, but it seems kind of fishy to me.

You have no responsibility beyond the term of the lease.
