can owner cancel 1 yr lease
I just moved into a house in california in mid jan,
the owner has an agent who claims to work for a company and i signed a i yr lease agreement with him and the owner. Almost three months laster the agent call me and tell me that the owner is filing bankrupt and i have to move in 30 days. I research and founf out that the man i pay my rent is is the husband of the actual owner and she is and always have been on title alone....I found out she just bought the house in dec 2006.
What are my rights ....I don't want to move and wonder about the agent...He tells me i have about 60 days or more , but sends me a 30 day notice in the mail. How do i retain an attorney to help me i am floored at the thought of having to move again and i have a son who is in school now he has to go to another school.

Who is the lessor the husband or the wife-the true owner? Sounds as if there may have been some mis-repesentation or fraud. Contact me directly.
