Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

new owner foreclosed property

in the beginning of may 2008 a notice was posted where i rent a house that the property would be sold at public auction on may 29th 2008. our rent was up to date when new owners took possession. there are repairs needed that violate the warranty of habituality we were trying to get the previous owners to fix. the prop. mng. the new owners hired called us and said they would continue to rent and to send our rent if we were going to stay. we assumed the new owners would be by to look at their new property to see what needed done. they have never seen the property previous to buying. anyway we sent the rent on time and 2 days later recieved a 30 day notice. they fired the mng. said they changed their minds. didn't want to rent because they didn't want to do repairs. we have been here 3 yrs shouldn't we get 60 days? and isn't illegal for them to ask for and collect rent on a building with so many of the violations listed on the warr. of habit. checklist? are we entitled to get that money back? this a new owner, the first rent payment.

Re: new owner foreclosed property

This is the same question which was already answered.

I believe that when a property is foreclosed, the new owners (usually a bank) have to give 30 days notice.
