Eviction for a tenant. If the son is a tenant (i.e. he is getting housing in exchange for something of value), he may be evicted, subject to the eviction laws that apply in your area. If he is not a tenant, but, rather, just an abusive adult, the parents may want to obtain a restraining order, ordering him out of the home and keeping his distance. In the case of serious, physical abuse, the parent may wish to call the police and get a restraining order.
