Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

is it ok?

My parents will be in court with the landlord this Monday. Is that ok if i want to go with my parents? I'm just 17

Sure, if it is okay with your parents. All courts, except for youth court, are open to the public and seeing any hearing or trial is a good learning experience as to the law and human nature. You will not when the case is called be allowed to go up to the table where your parents will sit,as only the parties and witnesses are allowed there, but you can remain in the court room and listen as to what goes on.

In addition to what Mr. Shers says, if the case involves your misconduct at the property and you dispute it, you certainly should appear as a witness for your parents. If it's alleged that your parents didn't pay rent, then it might be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for you to have a front-row seat.
