Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

i am not parked on the street.

we have to park on the side/back of the building.

what protection does our vehicles have then while we are working.

I know this isnt the case, but what if i had a property and made everyone park in a specific hidden area and had a guy rip off the cars all day long? How is the property not responsible for the security of the persons and vehicles on their property?

There is most likely a provision in your lease concerning this situation. Read it carefully, as landlord probably covering his rear end in the lease.

Also, I assume you are speaking of a work place, and not a dwelling, but either way you lose. As to responsibility for damage on the owner's property, if you can show negligence, the owner would be responsible for damages.

From what you have said here, there is no negligence.
