Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
Hello, I'm a plaintiff of a small claim. and have got this message from a court. The hearing is happening later this week and I wasn't sure what this means.
"CONTINUED ON COURT'S OWN MOTION. NO APPEARANCES BY PLAINTIFF. NO APPEARANCES BY DEFENDANT."
Does it mean that I shouldn't appear even over a phone call?

It means the Court has decided to set the trial at a later date. I would suggest that you telephone the clerk in the small claims department to determine the date and time, and make sure the information you received is from a credible court source.
