Use of Property

My rental unit had a leak and I was told by the tenent about it. I called my home owners insurance and filed a claim the next day. The repairs took 3-4 weeks and I paid for a motel for the two days the tenants where out of the house. I also adjuster the rent for 3 days and now they want a cash settlement of $600.00. Do they have a right to that? I don't think they do.
