prorated rent for moving out
can a landlord charge me if my apartment was rented during my prorated month?

How about resubmitting your question with clearer facts? How long were you in the apartment? How much was prorated? This isn't clear.

I am not sure what you mean. Once the landlord receives rent for a certain period of time he can not charge another person for that same period. But if you failed to give thirty days notice and moved out on the 1st, and on the 15th he started collecting rent from a new tenant, you owe rent for `14 days.
