Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I have received two three day notice. One was for to quit for nuisance which was July 16, 2010. I then have been trying to look for a place to stay since then but didn't have luck until August 1st. I am on a fixed income which is Public assistance once a month. I was able to find a place but I am waiting for a call to say i got the apartment. I then received another three day notice on August 6, 2010 to pay rent or quit. The landlord know i am on public assistance and i am unable to pay the rent and still try to move out as well. I only have one income my question is How do I fight this? What can I do to resolve this issue?

You do not give any facts that should you have any legal defenses against the three day notice. It is not the landlord's fault that you do not have enough income to both pay the rent and move to another location. The only way you can resolve the issue is by speaking to the landlord and pointing out that if you pay him the rent you will not be able to move out and be out of his hair, and that you will make monthly payments of $X to pay the back rent. If you are on Section 8, failure to pay your portion of the rent can disqualify you from receiving Section 8 assistance.
