Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I have received an Unlawful Detainer from my landlord who has either refused to fix anything or has short cut repairs regarding serious issues with my apartment. I want to know the best way to deal with it. I completed my Answer packet.

You will need to file some sort of answer to an Unlawful Detainer complaint with the Court within five days. If you do not do so, the landlord can get a default judgment against you. You need to review the lease (for various provisions regarding the landlord's obligations, tenant remedies, termination, breach, etc.), any and all notices that have been given to you to make sure that they are proper, and the complaint.
