Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
I have recently had a hard time finding work and have been out of work for 2 months. My rent was not paid at that time, but now i will be starting a new job tomorrow. I was given a 2nd day notice to pay rent or quit together with a 30 day notice on the 29th Nov, and now I am being asked to leave on the 10th of December, this month, or they will start to file a judgement against me. Do i not have 30 days to leave here after they gave me that notice?
Thank you

They must serve you with a 3 day not 2 day notice to pay rent or leave. Then they must serve you with a summons and complaint, and about 4-6 weeks later there may be a court appearance to decide the matter. But they do not yet have a judgment. They can ask you to leave thirty days after the 30 day notice, but they can not force you to do so until they get a judgment
