remove tenant

i have a tenant who is behind on rent and will not pay or move. he is on parole and his parole officier cannot help as this is a civil matter. is this correct?

Re: remove tenant

You must serve or post on the front door a 3-day notice to pay or quit. If he doesn't pay within the 3 days, then you have to bring an unlawful detainer action in court. Once you get a judgment, the sheriff then will evict him. You would then have to give him notice to pick up his stuff and store it elsewhere for a short while. A local attorney should be able to assist you at a reasonable rate.

The parole agent has nothing to do with civil matters. You must evict the tenant. Serve a three day notice and begin eviction proceedings. Then contact the parole agent.
