Rent Increase

My apartment has been sold, and the new owners are increasing my rent, beginning Feb.1st. $75.00 a month also the same amount of increase, in March, April, May and June.

Is this legal?

I gather that the new rent (with the $75 increase) will apply in all subsequent month. If you don't have a written lease and are not within a rent control or stabilization area, it's probably legal. Check with your city or county's Dept. of Housing or Rent Stabilization to be sure.
