rent increase?

i recently won an unlawful detainer case and the judgment was entered 4/11/08. the mgr. gave me a rent increase 12/04/07 effective 2/4/08. i am month to month, the increase was 165.00. i have been paying the increased amount since 2/4. since judgment was entered in april, is this increase legal? should i sue in small claims for the 165 x 4 months ive been paying the increased rent, or what?

Re: rent increase?

You should consult the terms of your lease to see what are the terms for how a rent increase is allowed. If you have additional questions you should contact any attorney in your area.

Good luck.
