Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Rent raises and terms of tenancy

In L.A.County: If more than a 10% rent raise I must give 60 day notice. If less than 10% raise then I can issue a 30-day. Also, if tenancy is more than 1-year I must give a 60-day. If tenancy is less than 1 year then I may give a 30-day. Is this information correct?

Re: Rent raises and terms of tenancy

There is no longer a 60 day requirement for notices to terminate tenancies exceeding 1 year. As for notices to increase rent, they are mostly governed by local rent stabalization laws. I will try to find a more complete answer for you in that regard. Good luck.
