Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California
if i rent a room from a lady whom agreed to give me a 30 day notice if things didn't work out but has abruptly asked me to leave the following week for reasons unknown, i have nowhere to go due to such short notice and i have not caused any trouble or harm, may i stay the 30 days or less quietly ?

She has to give you a 30 day notice to vacate if you've lived there less than a year, a 60 day notice if you've been there more than a year. Anything less (ie. 3 day notice), she must have cause. Verbally asking you to leave is not legally sufficient.
