Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I rent a storage unit since 2013 and it was recently sold but my payment on my unit is paid in full until July of 2017. The new storage owner wants me to sign a new lease but he says I need to start making payments starting in augest 2016.

I have a receipt from July of 2015 saying I'm Paid till July 2017!

What should I do

You shoe the contract to the new owner and tell him/her that you have a contact till July of 2017. His purchase is / should be subject to honoring your contract.

Should the new owner refuse to honor your contract you take legal action.
