rental deposit

my landlord didnt return my deposit or send a letter with receipts. it has been over 2 months. do they forfeit all claims after 21 days?should i get all of it back despite any damages or is that a false rumor?

False!.

Landlord must refund deposit minus: (1) unpaid rent;

(2) damages caused by you or your guests;(3) cleaning, but only if dirtier than when you moved in.

Additionally, there are substantial penalties possible at a trial, and not the least of which are landlord paying your court costs and attorney's.

I have found great success with retaining an attorney to write a strong letter to landlord, which I advise you to do ASAP.
